The ancestor of a family which returned with Zerubbabel from Babylon, comprising 454 members according to Ezra 2:15 and 655 members according to the parallel list given in Nehemiah 7:20. They joined with Nehemiah in a covenant to dissociate themselves from the pagans (Neh 10:1-16). Another group of 51 members of the same family returned with Ezra (Ezra 8:6).
