(1894–1982)

Czech architect. He designed numerous buildings in the crisp up-to-date International Modern style, e.g. Electric Administration Building, Holešovice District, Prague (1926–35—with Josef Kříž), a villa at Troja, Prague (1928), and his own house in the Baba District, Prague (1937). His best-known work was Prague Airport (1931–5). He was Professor of Architecture at the School of Industrial Arts in Prague 1945—70.
