Plot

Pathe's Adonis Is Robbed of His Clothes was released on the same reel as Patient From Punkville. For reasons that make sense within the context of the film, a young man is forced to don women's clothing. He spends most of the film warding off the jealousies of the ladies and the flirtations of the menfolk. Finally he succeeds in what was apparently his goal from the beginning -- to win the heart of a man-hating spinster. As pure, unadulterated slapstick, the film was a success; as a cogent, logical story, it fell rather short. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
