A city of Judah, southwest of Hebron, located in the village of Dura. It was fortified by Rehoboam, who stationed troops there and established stores of food, oil and wine (II Chr 11:5-9, 11). In the Hellenistic and Roman periods it was referred to as Adora (Adoreos).
