(Adrian) Jan (Pieters) LaRue

( b Kisaran, Sumatra, 31 July 1918). American musicologist. He studied at Harvard and Princeton, and in 1957 began teaching at New York University. He has studied the music of Okinawa, but his central interests are late 18th-century music (especially the symphony), style analysis and music-bibliographical research, including computer applications.
