Turnèbe, Adrien (1512-65). Reader in Greek at the Collège Royal from 1547, and royal printer of Greek (1552-6) (Aeschylus, Sophocles, the Iliad, philosophy). He was praised by Ronsard and Montaigne for his learning, judgement, and urbanity. His Adversaria (1564) contain textual and literary criticism; his Opera omnia (1600) include prefaces, speeches, and poems.
