ADSTAR (Automated Document Storage and Retrieval) was the name the hardware storage division of IBM was given in 1992. ADSTAR was sold to Tivoli Systems, Inc., but later Tivoli was purchased by IBM. ADSTAR is primarily known for a backup and recovery product named ADSTAR Distributed Storage Manager.
