What began in 1969 as an off-air community antenna service has grown into a provider of cable television, Internet, and phone service for the residents of Coral Springs and Weston, Florida. Advocate Communications (doing business as Advanced Cable Communications) offers digital cable TV and broadband Internet access to about 50,000 subscribers. It also provides Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) computer telephony service through a partnership with Vonage. The company is a division of Indiana-based diversified media company Schurz Communications, which bought what was then Coral Springs Cablevision in 1978.

Advanced Cable Communications is a division of Schurz Communications providing cable television, cable telephone, DVR, and broadband services to customers in the Florida communities of Coral Springs and Weston.[1] Previously named Coral Springs Cablevision, the company was purchased by Schurz in 1978 who changed the name to Advanced Cable Communications.[2]
