Game Description
Adventure at the Chateau d'Or puts the player in the role of a hero, hand-picked by the Princess to unlock the secrets hidden away in the opulent mansion from which the game takes its title. This castle has been left to the Princess by her uncle, an eccentric Duke who has veiled the greatest wonders of the place in tricky puzzles and clever deceptions. To help the princess, the player must unlock these great wonders by learning to understand the strange Duke, as well as the nature of the great mansion itself. Over two years in development, this first release from the developers at Karma Labs pays stylistic homage to classics like Myst and Riven.Though this story-driven graphic adventure relies heavily on scripted interaction with the photo-realistic 3D settings of the fictional castle, the player's actions, be they clever or clumsy, can have a decisive effect on the progress of the game. It is even possible for the player's character to die in Adventure at the Chateau d'Or, further emphasizing the need to consider each move carefully. Items and events in the castle reflect larger, interwoven tales and even a seemingly minor piece of information could turn out to be the key to a deeper level of understanding. The player will need to rely on contextual observation and an immersion in the storyline to properly solve the game's many puzzles and challenges.
