Plot

Before Harry Potter, there was Tintin, the boy reporter. Created by Belgian cartoonist Herge, Tintin was seeking adventures as early as 1929, when he first appeared as a daily strip. Half a century later, people are still discovering Herge's cast of characters due to the video animation. The Secret of the Unicorn was filled out in book form before being adapted to the screen. Legions of fans worldwide have followed Tintin as he discovers a treasure map, encountering collectors Sakharine and the Bird Brothers. The drawing in the 1994 release is loyal to the original, including very detailed French naval ships, which play an important role in the story line. The Secret of the Unicorn is actually completed in the sequel, Red Rackham's Treasure. ~ Sarah Ing, Rovi
