A technique whereby a player wins the pot from a bluff. After they win, they show their cards to all opposing players. Since it was a bluff, the purpose is to give opposing players a false consciousness as to the type of player they are, in this case loose (because it was a bluff). Conversely if a player wins the pot and is not called by any opposing players, and they have strong cards or a legitimate hand, they will show opposing players their cards. This will show that they only play strong cards, which could benefit in later play if they wish to bluff and steal a pot.

SoundPoker Says: Since poker is a game of deception, to advertise one's card may be a good strategy. It always keeps opponents guessing.
