Aed Macbricc

Aed Macbricc (Aodh) (d. 588), bishop. A member of the clan Ui Neill, Aed, who was skilled in medicine, founded monasteries in Munster and Meath, where he became a bishop: his principal church was at Killare. A pilgrimage to Slieve League (Donegal), where a ruined hermitage is believed to be his, still survives. His cult also extends to Scotland. Feast: 10 November.
