Filmed in Italy, this four-reel melodrama opens by establishing the romantic triangle involving Marco, Beatrice, and Albert. The threesome becomes a twosome when Albert falls for Beatrice's gorgeous mother, Lady Helen, the niece of the Secretary of State. Alas, Albert proves himself to be the villain of the piece by stealing secret war plans from Lady Helen's uncle. Marco chases after Albert, who takes to the air in a rickety biplane. Likewise manning the controls of a plane, Marco catches up with Albert, and the result is a thrilling aerial dogfight. Albert crashes to the ground, whereupon Marco is arrested for murder. But Beatrice makes a timely appearance and produces the secret papers stolen by Albert, permitting Marco to go free. Final score is Marco and Beatrice: 100, Albert and Lady Helen: zero. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
