The airline was established by the Cuban army and started operations in 1994 and is wholly owned by the Government of Cuba,[2] run by Corporación de la Aviación Civil S.A of Cuba.
Aerogaviota operates scheduled services to the following domestic destinations (at October 2006): Baracoa, Cayo Largo del Sur, Havana, Holguín, Santiago de Cuba, Trinidad and Varadero.[citation needed]
The airline also serves Nassau (Bahamas), Kingston (Jamaica) and Montego Bay (Jamaica).
