An individual who is in a position to influence the actions of a corporation. This includes people such as directors, executives, and owners.

Individual in a position to exert direct influence on the actions of a corporation. Among such persons are owners of 10% or more of the voting shares, directors, and senior elected officers and any persons in a position to exert influence through them-such as members of their immediate family and other close associates. Sometimes called a control person.
