The 1963 American Football League Championship Game was the fourth AFL title game. At the end of the regular season the San Diego Chargers won the Western Division for the third time in the four year existence of the AFL. The Eastern Division Boston Patriots and Buffalo Bills had an identical 7-6 record. A playoff game between them determined the division winner.

In the game Fullback Keith Lincoln performed tremendously and led the Chargers to an astounding 51-10 victory versus Boston. Lincoln carried the ball for 206 yards and led the team with 123 yards in receiving.

The Chargers championship win is noted for being the only and most recent major sports championship won for the city of San Diego. No other city with at least two professional sports teams has a championship drought as long as of 2011 (48 Years). The Patriots would not win a league championship till the 2001 NFL season.
