Plot

In the conclusion to the eight-part series Africa: The Story of a Continent, the postcolonial city of Lagos is depicted as a fast-growing municipality with problems associated with many urban centers -- a rising crime rate, traffic congestion, and a serious drain on energy supplies. Basil Davidson then takes an unflinching look at three of the well-known dictators of Africa: Uganda's Idi Amin, Ethiopia's Haile Selassie, and the Central African Republic's General Bokassa.
