Included are more of Africa's enchanting acoustic guitar styles: 1981 recordings by both adults and kids. The only name known even to megabuffs is the late Losta Abelo, once a friendly rival of Mwenda Jean Bosco. The most bewitching cuts of all are by a Tanzanian who plays only for friends; one song is briefly and unintentionally accompanied by the clattering of crockery. The kids include a group of blind school children making very adept music with homemade instruments, and a hell-for-leather cut for high-pitched voices and tomato-can banjo. ~ John Storm Roberts, Rovi
