Review
On After the Eulogy, Boy Sets Fire takes their politically-charged emo punk and adds a catchier song style. At times sounding like vintage Hüsker Dü, many of the songs this time around have a strong focus on the melodic guitar playing of Josh Latshaw. Especially memorable is the poppy "When Rhetoric Dies," a sad mid-tempo rocker that speaks out to small towns about world politics. As pretentious as that has the potential to be, in the hands of Boy Sets Fire it becomes an interesting political statement. The band still remains deeply rooted in hardcore, and shows off its raging side on the title track. Boy Sets Fire is one of the brighter lights in the indie hardcore scene, and After the Eulogy is the perfect showcase for their many talents. ~ Bradley Torreano, All Music Guide
