Review

Canadian label St. Clair has collected some of the world's best-known and best-loved classical pieces for this decent (but unsurprising) dinner compilation. Performances by several Eastern European orchestras of such undisputed classics as Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Boléro, and The Marriage of Figaro Suite are well done, and even sometimes inspired, but the real selling point of this disc is the fact that all of the selections are recorded in Dolby Surround. Dinner guests should be suitably impressed when the Non Pui Andrai from Figaro appears from behind the credenza or Ravel's masterpiece builds slowly from under the La-Z-Boy recliner. ~ J. Scott McClintock, Rovi
