Plot

This series takes place in an alternate universe from the original Mobile Suit Gundam called the After War Era. This series proposes a different scenario for the citizens of Earth and the colonies: that the colonists dropped many colonies, rather than just one, and through a different but gruesome war, the surface of Earth was all but completely destroyed. Now a group of young scavengers who rove the wastelands searching for useful materials become involved in a mission to rescue abused and exploited Newtypes. This series attempts to combine ideas from the Universal Century world in which the original Mobile Suit Gundam takes place with the bolder style of previous alternate universes in the Gundam franchise. This united some fans and alienated others, leaving After War Gundam X with an overall mixed reaction and, eventually, cancellation seven episodes prior to the series' completion. ~ Cammila Albertson, All Movie Guide
