Greek melodramas tend to put their leading characters through terrible tribulations, and this entertaining entry from director Grigoris Grigoriou is no exception. Poor Kostandis (Thanassis Mylonas) is the son of the foreman of a large farm estate. He falls in love with the owner's daughter, Vassiliki (Eleni Anoussaki), but she gets engaged to an agriculrure specialist named Petros (Petros Fyssoun) who turns out to be something of a louse. When the estate owner dies, Petros steals his money, and Kostandis is sent to prison for the crime. It takes the help of a clever farmhand named Yiannis to exculpate Kostandis so he can have Petros arrested and marry his beloved Vassiliki. Makis Revmatas co-stars with Vassilis Andronidis and the ubiquitous Lavrentis Dianellos. ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi
