Review

While Age of Consent features a couple of epic tunes, it generally focuses on shorter, slicker tracks. The band obviously is adept at more commercial numbers, and tunes like the savage "Chains of Fire" push home the point. But the main attractions are the epic "Burning of Rome" and the galloping "Lion in Winter." Somehow the album asks for more. When it was re-released in 1997 with four bonus tracks -- including an excellent rendition of Judas Priest's "Desert Plains" -- DeFeis and company gave the record new life, resequencing it and offering some fresher tunes. [The 2008 reissue included bonus tracks.] ~ Bryan Reesman, Rovi
