Agipie Fights with Another God and Thunder Results


Turkana/Tanzania

There are two gods. One is Agipie, a benevolent god who lives in the sky. The other is the opposite, a dangerous god who lives in the world below, in mountains, rivers, and rocks; he has cattle, goats, sheep, and people who are sometimes heard talking. This god causes drowning, creates lightning which strikes people and livestock.

When there is a thunderstorm, it is the two gods fighting, each hurling lightning bolts.
