Review

One of the most authentic collection of mantras available, Agnithora Shantipath: Mantra -- Vedic Chants for Universal Peace and Well Being offers vedic chants for three different purification rituals: the Brahmayajna Vaidic Sandhya and the Devayajna Agnithora, which focus on breathing, chanting, and sprinkling water on various parts of the body, and the Agnyadhan Mantra, which adds a sacrificial fire and clarified butter. Of course, the chants are hypnotic to listen to without following the rituals (though the album's liner notes do feature fairly complete instructions if you do want to participate in them). A fascinating and extensive collection of chants, Agnithora Shantipath: Mantra is a worthwhile album for those with an intermediate to advanced knowledge of vedic rituals and meditation. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
