American architects, founded by Argentine-born Diana Agrest (1944– ) and Mario Gandelsonas (1938– ). They have written on the ‘analytical decomposition’ of architecture, and, with their house on Sag Pond, Sagaponack, Long Island, NY (1990–4), have demonstrated the architectural possibilities of this with a cluster of disparate elements, using timber cladding, and suggesting tradition that is half-forgotten.
