When farmers grow -- whether it be corn, soybeans, or swine -- AgStar grows, too. One of the largest Farm Credit Associations in the nation, AgStar is a member-owned cooperative, run by farmers for farmers. Loans for grain, dairy, and swine account for most of AgStar's loan and lease portfolio, which also consists of loans for beef, horses, timber, or recreational land; equipment and vehicle loans and leases; financing for ethanol and biodiesel plants; and mortgages for rural homes and hobby farms. The cooperative also offers crop and livestock insurance, and tax, accounting, cash management, and consulting services to its clients in some 70 counties in southern and eastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.
