Ahmed Faras (born 1946) is a former Moroccan football forward, who was named African Footballer of the Year in 1975 and spent all of his playing career at native Chabab Mohammédia.

International

Faras was a member of Morocco national football team from 1965 to 1979, wearing captain's armband for eight consecutive years, starting from 1971. On international level, Ahmed Faras took part in the 1970 FIFA World Cup in Mexico[1] and 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich,[2] before leading his team the African Cup of Nations success in 1976.

Ahmed Faras scored a total of 42 goals for his national side. Faras won the Moroccan League in 1981 and finished as league's top-scorer in 1969 and 1973. The legendary Moroccan forward retired in 1982, after spending a total of 17 years with the club.
