Ain Roost (born December 5, 1947 in Uppsala, Sweden) is a retired male discus thrower, who represented Canada twice (1972 and 1976) at the Summer Olympics. A resident of San Diego, California he claimed the bronze medal in the men's discus throw event at the 1971 Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia.

Roost was born in Sweden to parents who left Estonia after the Russian occupation. When he was five years old, the family moved to Canada. In 1965, Roost went to Utah State University on a track scholarship, where he worked with former discus world record holder Jay Silvester, eventually graduating in 1968. Roost first competed internationally at the 1966 Commonwealth Games when he finished seventh in the discus. In addition to his two Olympic appearances, he finished fourth at the Commonwealth Games in 1974.

Roost returned to Utah State in 1970 to get a Master’s Degree and later received a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1975. He eventually settled in San Diego where he spent his career as a clinical psychologist. His personal best in the discus throw event was 61.68 metres, achieved in 1976.
