Áinle, Ánle, Áindle
[Irish, hero, warrior, champion]
The name of several figures from early Ireland, most notably one of the three sons of Uisnech, who followed his brother Noíse in eloping with Deirdre to Scotland; thought to have a tenor voice, in contrast to his brother Ardan, a baritone. Macpherson based the character of Sithallin on him.
