Ainsworth Dyer
Corporal Ainsworth Dyer (July 29 1977 – April 17 2002) was one of 4 Canadian soldiers killed in a friendly fire incident near Kandahar in Afghanistan (see Tarnak Farm incident).

He served with Canadian peacekeeping forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2000. He was killed when a laser-guided bomb was dropped on members of Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry taking part in a live-fire training exercise.
His mother, Agatha Dyer, was chosen as the Silver Cross Mother for Remembrance Day ceremonies held in Ottawa in 2004.
Dyer was engaged to be married.
