Air Force Systems Command


AFSC

A now-defunct Air Force Command responsible primarily for engineering research and development. When the Air Force was restructured in 1961, Systems Command acquired the materiel procurement functions from AF Logistics Command. When the Air Force was again reorganized in 1992, the functions of the Systems Command were again merged with those of the Logistics Command, and it was inactivated on July 1, 1992.
