The flight attendants and the airport employees of "no-frills" Southwest Airlines continue to try to keep their wits about them and struggle to maintain a cheery (or at least friendly) veneer despite the slings and arrows of outraged, frustrated, and downright nasty passengers as the A&E reality series Airline enters its second season. The season opener "Judgment Day" typifies the series' format: three separate storylines, filmed at three different airports, depicting the Southwest staffers' on-the-job travails and personal problems. (A provisional agent in Baltimore waits for the "right" time to propose to his girlfriend, thunderstorms have backed up traffic in Chicago, and a pair of middle-aged siblings "over-celebrate" before flying out of LAX and may not be in any condition to board their plane.) Among the season's other 27 episodes are "Family Business," in which a flight supervisor in Chicago nervously awaits a reunion with her brother, who has been fighting in Iraq for the past year; "That's Entertainment," wherein fabled American Idol contestant William Hung inadvertently raises a ruckus at LAX, while a representative for Madonna frets over missing luggage containing the entertainer's costumes; "Expect the Unexpected," highlighted by the efforts of a lady passenger to get a suitcase full of pungent dead fish (with parasites) past security; "No Laughing Matter," in which an otherwise affable ticket agent nearly loses it when confronted with a super-obnoxious passenger, and a sweet little old lady surprises one and all with her salty vocabulary; the heart-tugging "In Sickness and in Health," in which a compassionate Southwest pilot befriends a youngster en route to an operation that may or may not relieve his rare brain tumor; and "Precious Cargo," wherein a Baltimore rep from Southwest searches for the missing owner of an unattended bag full of margarine! The season ends with "No Going Back," dealing with an angry passenger who refuses to pay an upgrade fee of one dollar, another returning Iraq war veteran, and a woman who may or may not have a medical problem -- but who steadfastly refuses to get off her plane no matter what the circumstances. ~ All Movie Guide
