This unusual documentary from Latvia chronicles the daily life of Misha, a 16-year-old inmate in a juvenile reformatory, put behind bars for stealing. Other juveniles are there for activities that would not be considered crimes in other parts of the world, such as being in a car accident or behaving badly. Both depressing and horrifying, the camera does not flinch as it records the passive "delinquents," all apparently accepting their incarceration and penitent for their sins against society. Hope is not reflected in their blank faces and this documentary raises questions about what kind of a future might be in store for them. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi
