Biography

A South African trad and roots rock band, aKing came together when former members of established outfit Fokofpolisiekar -- Hunter Kennedy and Jaco Venter joined up with Laudo Liebenberg and Hennie Van Halen. Their first album, Dutch Courage, was released in February of 2008, and the band spent a great deal of their time afterwards touring in support of it. The singles from the collection were all strong hits. After hitting some of the region's prominent festivals, aKing was back in the studio working on an EP release that was planned for later in 2008. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide
