Akira Fubuki (風吹あきら Fubuki Akira / Kazabuki Akira) is a Japanese AV Idol. Known for her "light brown skin, cute nipples, and exotic face,"[2] Fubuki was "a super popular AV queen"[3] in Japan during the late 1990s.

Life and career
Born in Kanagawa on March 13, 1978, Akira Fubuki first became known as a photobook (or shashinshu) model. She made her photo-book debut at the age of 18 in the October 1996 release, Pistil[4] Fubuki's AV debut was in November 1996 for the Alice Japan label.[5] Her first video for the MAX-A label was the December 1996 release, Dressy[2] Pink Breath, her second video for this label, was released in January of 1997. The nervousness of Fubuki's on-camera performance was a selling-point for this video.[6] This initiation of a young "new face" AV model fits the pattern of AV career which Kjell Fornander describes. He says, "Viewers are invited to follow, from appearance to appearance, her sexual initiation, dawning self-awareness and gradual acceptance of her inner, dark depths."[7]
Some of Fubuki's other videos have her acting in roles such as an office lady involved in a sexual relationship with her boss,[8] a teacher,[9] and a school-girl who is raped.[10] In April 1997, she also appeared in a softcore V-Cinema film, Blue Jeans: Fruit of Temptation (ブルージーンズ 誘惑の果実 Burū Jiinzu Yūwaku no Kajitsu), released by Japan Home Video.[11]
Her farewell to the entertainment world was with the December, 1997 photobook, So Long![12][13] Fubuki had become the number one AV idol,[14] and retired, within a year of her AV debut. Her continued popularity inspired retrospective compilations of her works in 2000 (Akira Fubuki Special)[14] and 2001 (Akira Fubuki DX).[3] Remaining a highly popular model to this day, her products continue to be widely available through video and Video CD outlets specializing in Asian video products, as well as the Japanese website of the mainstream, global outlet Amazon.com, and the Japanese bookstore chain, Kinokuniya.
