Aknemycin Plus

Manufactured by Almirall

A proprietary combination of erythromycin (an antibiotic) and tretinoin (a retinoid), used for the treatment of acne. It is available as a topical solution on prescription only.

Side effects:
include skin irritation and changes in skin colour.

Precautions:
Aknemycin Plus should not be used by people with eczema, rosacea, or sunburn or by those with a family history of certain skin cancers. It should not be used during pregnancy or by women who are breastfeeding. Exposure to sunlight or sunlamps should be minimized during treatment. Other skin preparations, especially keratolytics, should be avoided during treatment.
