Review

Unrepentant purveyors of the darkest of electronica, Die Form presents the world with side projects and creepy experiments made during their two decades of recording up to the release of this two-CD collection. Synthesist/vocalist Philippe Fichot and vocalist Elaine P conjure ghastly compositions of stark, electronic respirations, faintly medieval sounds, and throbbing, tribal rhythms. These are leather tie-down odes that play up to their image as soundtracks for slow, deliberate sadomasochism. As sinister as it is sexual, this succubus song of the diabolical duo is steamy and suggestive, calculating and caressing. This compendium of Philippe Fichot's many side projects covers rarities, club hits, and unreleased material. ~ Tom Schulte, Rovi
