Early life

Al Bandari was born in 1928. She was the daughter of the King Abdul Aziz and his wife, Jawhara bint Sa'ad bin Abdul Muhsin al Sudairi.[2] Her mother was a member of al Sudairi family. In fact, Jawhara al Sudairi had married to Sa'd bin Abdul Rahman, who was full brother of King Abdulaziz. After Sa'd's death in 1916, he married to her and they had four children, including al Bandari.

Al Bandari has three brothers: Saad (II); Abdul Mouhsin and Musa'id who is the only surviving one.

Personal life

Al Bandari was married to Bandar bin Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman al Saud, the owner designate of the Rupali Bank.[2] Bandar's father Muhammad is King Abdulaziz's step brother.

Death

Al Bandari died on May 8, 2008 at the age of 80 at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh.[1] Her funeral was held at the city's Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque.[1] Messages of condolences were sent from throughout the Middle East to King Abdullah and the Saudi Royal Family. Condolences came from the Emir of Kuwait Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah[3], Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said,[4][5], The Emir of Bahrain Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifah[6] and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and his Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.[7]
