Al-Haffah (Arabic: الحفة) is a Syrian city administratively belonging to Latakia Governorate. Al-Haffah has an altitude of 194m. It has a population of 17,921. Al-Haffah is the largest section (Manteqa) of the four administrative sections forming Latakia Goverorate; City of Latakia, Al-Haffah, Jableh and Al-Qurdaha.
Al-Haffah is located on a mountain near Salah-Ul-Deen Castle (7 km); which is very famous in the Syrian Monuments Directory due to its history (starting with the Phoenicians, and being a strategic point for invading Crusaders) and the unique "Pole of the Pregnant" (ar: عامود الحبلة ), which is a tower sculptured in stone to connect the two parts of the castle without using the gates.
Al-Haffah produces olives, figs, pomegranates, Damacian apples and Debbeshee pears.
