Group Captain Alan John "Al" Lockwood is a retired Royal Air Force officer who stood as the Conservative candidate for Sedgefield at the British General election in 2005.[1] As his opponent was the then Prime Minister Tony Blair, his campaign was mostly a formality; he received 14.4% of the vote, as opposed to Blair's 58.9%.[2]
During the Iraq War, Lockwood was recalled into the RAF, having been previously discharged, to become the British military spokesman based at United States Central Command in Qatar.[3]
