Alamodezeit
Alamodezeit, derived from ‘à la mode’, refers to one aspect of the 17th c., and especially to the second half of it, viz. the imitation in literature, language, clothing, and manners, of French models. The most conspicuous instances in literature are to be found in the Second Silesian School (see Schlesische Schulen). The ‘Alamode’ tendency aroused contemporary opposition, notably from Moscherosch and Logau.
