Alamoth (ăl'əmōth), in the Bible, musical term, unknown in meaning, although some have guessed "soprano," connecting it with a word for "maidens." It occurs in First Chronicles and in the title of Psalm 46. The term Sheminith, in the titles of Psalms 6 and 12, has been explained as "bass," complementary to Alamoth.
