Alan Jowett is a railway author based in Yorkshire Dales. Most of his books were published by the former Cambridge-based publisher Patrick Stephens Ltd (PSL); PSL is now part of the Haynes Publishing Group and is based at Sparkford, Somerset, with the parent group.
Employed as an "under manager" for Barclays in the Yorkshire Dales, he is an amateur cartographer and keen on railways. In retirement he has produced hand written and drawn railway atlases.[1][2]
