Alapars (Armenian: Ալափարս, also Romanized as Alap’ars; formerly Aylaberk, Vardanavan, and Vardanavank) is a village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia. Its center is dominated by the churches of S. Astvatsatsin built in 1897 and Vardan Church (Vardanavank in Armenian) built in 901. According to local legend Vardanavank contains a drop of blood from the Armenian national hero Vartan Mamikonian.
