Forty eight. The flag of the United States of America had forty
eight stars from 1912 until 1959. Veteran's Day is celebrated in
the United States on November 11th each year. The November 11th
celebration dates back to 11:00am on the 11th day of the 11th month
in 1918 when the hostilities of World War One officially came to an
end. Most of the world recognizes November 11th as "Armistice Day."
In 1954 President Eisenhower signed a resolution changing
"Armistice Day" to "Veterans Day" as a recognition to all veterans
of all wars.
