Alba gu bràth ([ˈal̪ˠapə kə ˈpɾaːx]
listen (help·info)) is a Scottish Gaelic phrase used to express allegiance to Scotland. Translated into English it means "Scotland forever", literally "Scotland until judgment". The phrase is often used as a political slogan in the campaign for Scottish independence.
Various (mis-)spellings are also used, partly due to similarities to the Irish slogan Erin Go Bragh ("Ireland Forever"), for example Alba go bragh, Alba gu bra, Alba go breá.
