Albert Christian Jensen
(1847–1913)
Danish architect responsible, usually in collaboration with Ferdinand Meldahl, for several important buildings in Copenhagen. They completed the Frederikskirke (or Marble Church) begun by Eigtved and Jardin, in 1874–94. He designed the Charlottenborg Art Gallery (1880–3), Hagemanns Kollegium (1908), and the Magasin du Nord Department Store on the Kongens Nytorv which emulated Parisian prototypes even to the extent of having pavilion-roofs. Active in the Society of Architects, he was instrumental in starting the Society's journal Architekten.
