Albert Ernest Doyle

Architecture and Landscaping: Albert Ernest Doyle

(1877–1928)

California-born, he founded his architectural firm in Oregon with William B. Patterson as his partner in 1907, and designed a ten-storey extension to the Meier and Frank Department Store in Portland. The firm's commercial designs were eclectic, largely in Revival styles, but its simpler seaside houses (e.g. Wantz Studio House, Neahkahnie, OR (1916) ), were inspirations for Belluschi and others who worked with Doyle.
