Biography

Beginning in the early '30s, conductor, arranger, and composer Albert Woodbury assisted on the orchestral scores of such noted film composers as John Williams, Elmer Bernstein, and Andre Previn. In 1969, Woodbury was nominated along with partner Johnny Green for directing the score of They Shoot Horses, Don't They? During the '30s, he performed on radio with Clyde Lucas & His California Dons and also arranged music for many popular radio shows. During WWII, he accompanied Hollywood stars on USO tours. Woodbury has composed and orchestrated scores for television shows, including the Oscar broadcasts. He has also conducted symphonies in Boston, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
